Spencer’s best friend, Phoebe, gave him a dinosaur fossil for his birthday.  He chipped away at the rock with such seriousness, and brushed away the debris with such glee, I don’t think he noticed anyone else in the room for about an hour.  Although it did sound like there was construction going on in the playroom for a while there, followed by shouts of joy if a small piece of bone was discovered.  Still, this was a fantastic gift for a boy who loves dinosaurs!  Thank you, Phoebe!  : )

Sidebar:  This reminds me of a hilarious piece I just read by Jennifer Egan in The New Yorker called “Archeology.”

No one is entirely certain what will happen when the grant runs out at the end of 2016
